Lesson 1: ICT Competency Standards for Philippine Pre-Service Teacher Education


   In this lesson I learned that our country set a standard in ICT Competency for the teachers. It is because it's important to have a standard in teaching for the teacher to follow. It helps themin planning and organizing the lessons and activities for their students learning.

   In this ICT Competency Standards for Philippine Pre-Service Teacher Education, I've got to know the importance of being literate in technology, especially as a teacher. Teachers need to know how to operate technology (laptop, desktop, projector, etc..). You don't need to be a pro but at least you know the basic knowledge about it. We are living in the 21st Century where technology is very dominant and we will encounter students who is pro in technology, that's why we need to cope up. We didn't want our students to tease us about that, aren't we?

   Teaching could be a lot easier with the help of technology. As a future Educator we didn't need to write the lesson in the board anymore. We could just use our laptop and projector.

   That's why the Government set this standard to make sure that the Educator has enough knowledge in the ICT and they could teach this to their students properly. This standards will make teaching a lot better.
